At SuiteConnect NYC, NetSuite offered a closer look at how AI in ERP will shape the future of its platform. Building on announcements made at SuiteWorld 2025, the event highlighted how NetSuite AI capabilities, AI agents, and the new NetSuite Next experience are designed to make ERP systems more intuitive, automated, and widely used across organizations.
While only a few new product updates were introduced, the event provided deeper insight into how NetSuite plans to embed generative AI and automation directly into business workflows.
Expanding AI capabilities across NetSuite
NetSuite showcased several enhancements that demonstrate how AI is being integrated throughout the platform, including:
- AI-assisted financial close
- A new AI-powered solution with BILL
- Autonomous Close with Close Manager and Exception Management
- Advanced Planning
- Profitability and Cost Management
- Analytics Warehouse visualizations
- Narrative Insights
- Subscription Metrics
- AI Connector Service
- Ad Hoc Dashboards in NetSuite Next
Together, these updates aim to help finance teams and business leaders gain insights faster while automating routine tasks.
AI preferences and Prompt Studio

Another sign of NetSuite’s expanding AI strategy is the growing level of administrative control available within the platform. As shown in the AI Preferences screen within Prompt Studio, NetSuite is giving organizations a centralized place to manage how AI features are configured and governed. The screenshot also highlights the option to use OCI credentials for Prompt Studio, reinforcing Oracle’s focus on secure, enterprise-ready AI deployment.
This administrative layer is important because it shows that NetSuite’s AI roadmap is not just about adding new capabilities. It is also about giving customers the tools to validate credentials, manage settings, and roll out AI in a controlled way across the business. That balance of innovation and governance will be critical as more organizations adopt AI-driven ERP workflows.
AI could increase ERP adoption
During the event, NetSuite founder and CEO Evan Goldberg emphasized that AI will likely expand the number of ERP users within companies rather than reduce them.
Tools like Ask Oracle, NetSuite’s conversational AI interface, allow employees to interact with ERP systems simply by asking questions about their business data. This reduces the learning curve and makes ERP insights accessible to a wider range of users.
NetSuite Next and AI-driven workflows
Goldberg described NetSuite Next as the most significant update since the platform’s founding. The release introduces AI-powered workflows, conversational intelligence, and specialized AI agents designed to automate complex business processes.
Importantly, the upgrade preserves existing workflows, screens, and customizations, allowing organizations to adopt the new experience gradually under administrator control.
Faster development and implementations
AI is also changing how NetSuite applications are built. Goldberg expects AI-assisted development to accelerate the creation of industry-specific solutions and partner-built SuiteApps.
In addition, AI-powered integrations could significantly shorten ERP implementations. Processes that once took 60 days may potentially be completed in about 20 days, thanks to automated data integration and migration tools.
The future of AI in NetSuite ERP

NetSuite’s strategy reflects a practical approach to AI-powered ERP: embed intelligence directly into everyday workflows, gather feedback from customers, and continuously improve the platform.
With more than 43,000 customers worldwide, NetSuite has a large community of early cloud adopters ready to experiment with AI-driven capabilities. As ERP AI and agent-based automation evolve, the company’s challenge will be balancing rapid innovation with the reliability businesses expect from mission-critical systems.
If the discussions at SuiteConnect NYC are any indication, NetSuite’s next phase will focus on making ERP systems smarter, more automated, and easier for everyone in the organization to use.
