Embed Online Case Forms into your Web Site, but let NetSuite do the work

INTRODUCTION

In our previous post, NETSUITE ONLINE CASE FORMS: THE EASY WAY TO CONNECT WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS!, we showed you how to create an online case form to allow customers to submit inquiries to your company.  In this post, we will be taking a quick look at how to take your online case form and embed it into any webpage on your website. This is very powerful and allows you to let NetSuite do the work of data capture and processing without you having to build an additional customer-facing form and finding a way to integrate it with NetSuite tools.

PROCESS

Now that we have our online case form, how do we embed it into our website? The easiest way to do this is to create an iframe tag and insert that code into any page you wish on your website such as a Contact Us page.

Let’s take a look at a sample code snippet for the iframe tag we are going to construct to achieve this.

When you embed this code into your website page, you can see the NetSuite form display. See the screenshot below. At this point, the form captures all of the data and submits it to NetSuite. NetSuite will then create/update a customer and create a new case. 

When a customer submits the form, you may want a message display that acknowledges that you have received the form submission on the screen. One way to do this is to create a page on your website that contains a simple acknowledgment message. You can then assign this page URL in the Redirect to URL field on the NetSuite Online Case Form field called, REDIRECT TO URL. This is found in the Setup Workflow options sub-tab.

If you wish to have an email sent to the customer, you can create an email template within NetSuite and assign the email template in the Send Auto-Reply Email drop-down on the External Case form Set Up Workflow options subtab.
